The Tribulation has already begun
New book will reveal the details
All the signs of the start of the period called The Tribulation — predicted in the Bible as a seven-year period before the return of Jesus the Christ — have already occurred. This is only part of the research that I've uncovered recently while working on a new book. Events are happening so rapidly that I literally cannot type fast enough to keep pace. Hence, this column is meant to give readers — Christian and otherwise — information that will inspire them to search the truths of the Holy Bible for themselves. There is still time to "work out your salvation".
Many people have been taught — quite wrongly — that there will not be any Christians here on Earth when The Tribulation begins. Those misguided Christians are basing their hopes on a "get out of jail free card" called a "Pre-Tribulational Rapture". The idea that The Rapture — the sudden, bodily "snatching away" of Christians up into Heaven — will occur prior to The Tribulation is a prophetic equivalent of a "prosperity gospel" that gives people a false sense of hope and security. That false sense could easily usher in the great "falling away".
For several months, I've been doing research for a new book. The original working title was Are We Already in the End Times?, but I recently changed the title from a question to a statement. The new title is Tribulation: 2008. In the book, I identify four distinct periods of Biblical timing: the Latter Days, the End Times, the Tribulation, and the Great Tribulation. Many people seem to think that all four periods are the same, but are called by different names in different parts of the Bible. Not so. This past weekend, the signs were put in place to move us from the End Times into The Tribulation.
Some people think that The Tribulation will begin when the first of the Seven Seals are opened from around the scroll described in Chapter Six of Revelation. Not so. That was the beginning of the Latter Days. And, the first seal was opened more than one hundred years ago! The period of the Latter Days was intended to get mankind thinking about the approaching End Times. For some, it worked. But, for many, it did not. (Jesus predicted that "scoffers" would mock the signs, even if they were revealed plainly.)
The End Times was a much shorter period of time. It had a very specific beginning, which was noted by a specific political event -- which was linked to the opening of the seventh seal, almost 15 years ago. The End Times were intended to "turn up the heat", so that people who might have ignored the signs of the Latter Days should be awakened to spiritual realities. Many did awaken, but many more did not.
The Tribulation is a period of testing for Christians, and a period of revealing the truth of Jesus the Christ as the Messiah of Israel. Jesus predicted that many Christians would "fall away" during the End Times, and many more would during The Tribulation. Time magazine has just released the results of huge survey that indicates many Christians do not believe that Jesus is the only way to eternal life.
It is no accident — even if its authors do not see the significance of the timing — that the survey was released at the time of the Summer Solstice of 2008. The Tribulation is a seven-year period that is divided into two halves, each 3.5 years long. If you add 3.5 years to the Summer Solstice of 2008, you arrive at the Winter Solstice of 2012. That day "just happens" to be the last day of the Mayan calendar. Many scientists think that the Mayan calendar, a carved stone wheel, is the most accurate calendar on Earth. Yet, it is incapable of calculating a date beyond 21 December 2012. Coincidence?
If you go forward 3.5 years from the Winter Solstice of 2012, you arrive at the Summer Solstice of 2015. That date "just happens" to be in the middle of a tetrad of solar and lunar eclipses. Such a tetrad has only appeared three times in the past five hundred years, and every one of those tetrads was in a year significant to Jewish and Christian history. The physical description of the tetrad "just happens" to match the Biblical description of what Jesus predicted would happen immediately after "the tribulation of those days".
But, wait, there's more!
This past weekend also matched the period described in Revelation 8:5, when an angel takes fire from the altar of God and throws it to the Earth. More than 800 wildfires started in a single day in California this past weekend, as the result of an 'unprecedented' lightning storm of a type called "dry lightning". The triggering event in the Bible takes place immediately after the "silence in Heaven", and as the seven angels prepare to blow their seven trumpets that cause disasters on Earth during The Tribulation. (For a presentation on the "silence in Heaven", its duration on Earth, and the event that marks its beginning, readers will need to wait for the book, which should be completed soon.) The wildfires form a virtual ring around the infamous Bohemian Grove, where leaders from business and government gather to perform pagan rituals during the Dog Days of Summer. If the huge number of fires were to heat up the sub-surface rock formations, could that trigger an earthquake? (The next thing in the sequence of Revelation 8:5 is an earthquake.)
And, if an earthquake does happen, then perhaps the scoffers in the "lamestream" news media will mock it as a "mere coincidence" that the lightning storm happened during the Jewish Sabbath that immediately followed the re-instatement of homosexual "marriage" in the State of California. And, if so, perhaps they would also mark it as "mere coincidence" that the Bohemian Grove was founded by San Francisco journalists that wanted to promote a sexually-loose lifestyle.
During this same past weekend, new persecutions began against Christians. One of those persecutions, the deporting of Christian pastors, was recently begun by a country that was previously recognized as a "Christian nation" — the United States of America! When a Christian nation begins to deport Christian pastors, that should get the attention of Bible prophecy students.
When the trumpets begin to blow, and that should start quite soon, then the disasters on Earth will be unmistakable. The events of the past hundred-plus years should be unmistakable to serious Bible readers. But, admittedly, I had overlooked some of the signs until I began to do this concentrated research. That research was sparked by someone's question to me about whether Barack Obama could be The Antichrist.
The answer to that question (it might surprise you), and many more, will be in the book, Tribulation: 2008. (NOTE: Like my columns, the online version of the book will contain hyperlinks, so that readers may conduct further research of the details. And, the online version will cost far less than the print version.)
Keep your eyes open; and, "... look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near"!
